The course will address collage from a perspective analyzed through the work and development of the technique by avant-garde artists. Arranged along a non-historical timeline, the classes trace the contributions of artists/activists, not only to the collage technique, but also to discussions of gender, insurgency, and societal provocations of their time. Target audience: artists interested in creativity and the collage technique.

In addition to covering the most diverse areas of the visual arts sector, especially collage, the course aims to expand into other related sectors such as history, gender and media.

Manuela Eichner

A multifaceted artist, she holds a degree in Sculpture from UFRGS. She lives and works between São Paulo and Berlin. Her practice encompasses videos, performances, collaborative workshops, installations, murals, and environmental experiences. In these different areas, she systematically uses principles of collage, rupture, and the scrambling of spatial unity. She has participated in various programs around the world, such as Rumos Itaú Cultural (BR), Utropic in Poznań (PL), ZK/U in Berlin (DE), AnnexB and Brooklyn Brush in New York (USA), Arte Pará in Belém (BR), Art Madrid Feria in Madrid (ES), Fikra Biennial of Graphic Design in Sharjah (UAE), IASPIS Residency in Malmö (SE), CND Centre National de la Danse in Paris (FR), and Manifesta Colagem, Vão do MASP in São Paulo (BR).
