Byung-Chul Han is known for his incisive critique of contemporary society, which is marked by an obsession with productivity, self-exploitation, individualism and narcissism. But how do these pressures impact artistic creation?

In his works, Han proposes that art can serve as an alternative, offering resistance and a means of overcoming.

This course, taught by Eder Aleixo, explores Han's vision of art and how it needs to break free from modern, capitalist constraints to realize its true potential.

Topics such as the opposition between art and information, the relationship between art and rituals that give meaning to life, and the main problems of contemporary art in relation to capitalism and the information society will be discussed.

Furthermore, possible ways to revitalize art in the face of the social and technological demands that threaten it will be addressed.

The main objective is to articulate Han's ideas with a proposal that moves towards overcoming the crisis he identifies in art.
