The course aims to explore the crucial changes in Western Art from the beginning of the Renaissance to the emergence of Modern Art at the beginning of the 20th century, highlighting its relationships and independence with Aesthetics. In addition, interactions with Design, Fashion and their influence in areas such as Cinema, Dance, Theater and Literature will be addressed. Aimed at anyone interested in Art, Fashion and Design, the course does not require prior training.

Lorenzo Merlino

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Fashion from Faculdade Santa Marcelina and studied at Studio Berçot in Paris. With over 25 years of experience in the textile industry, he was one of the founders of Casa de Criadores and participated in SPFW for six years. Nominated for the XIV Carlos Gomes Award in 2011 and elected best opera costume designer in Brazil in 2015, he works as a professor at FAAP and has taught courses at institutions such as MAM, MASP, Faculdade Belas-Artes, Arte que Acontece, Superbacana+, Unibes Cultural, SENAC, and SESC. Since 2016, he has been an ambassador for Flanders for Arts and Fashion in Brazil. He holds a postgraduate degree in Art History from FAAP, a Master's degree, and a PhD from UNICAMP, with dissertations and theses recommended for publication. In 2021, he completed a CAPES scholarship for a doctoral sandwich program at the University of Brighton, England.
