This course provides in-depth knowledge on certain legal issues that are fundamental to the cultural sector, including copyright, personality rights, protection of cultural heritage, age ratings and supported projects. During the meetings, participants will learn through real-life cases, court decisions, practical workshops and reading tips. The goal is to enable professionals and other interested parties to deal with complex legal issues related to culture and art.

Meeting 09 | Management of cultural institutions with Marília Bonas (IDBrasil/Football Museum) and Felipe Arruda (Jewish Museum)
Each guest will give an individual presentation on fundamental issues of cultural management and then there will be a debate on the challenges of managing private and public museums.
Graduated in Law (2017) and postgraduate in Cultural Project Management (2022), both from USP. She specialized in copyright in North America (Yale Law School), Asia (Peking University) and Europe (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), having done postgraduate research on copyright and the digitization of museum collections. Associate lawyer at Borges Sales & Alem Advogados, working for around 5 years as a legal consultant for MAM São Paulo and other institutions in the cultural sector. Previously, she worked in legal consultancy for entertainment and media organizations, having worked in the Legal sector at Google Brazil. Co-author of the Federal Government's Internet of Things (IoT) Plan and the study “Building a National IoT Plan: Policy Recommendations and the Case of Brazil”, published by Columbia University. Columnist at the Institute of Law, Creative Economy and Arts – IDEA and member of the International Council of Musems – ICOM.
He is a cultural manager with multidisciplinary experience in several organizations. He is currently the Executive Director of the Jewish Museum of São Paulo, the largest Jewish museum in Latin America, which opened in 2021. He has previously held positions as Director of Culture and Participation at the Tomie Ohtake Institute, Arts Manager at the British Council in Brazil, Planning Manager at Base7 Projetos Culturais, among others. His work includes research, development and management of institutions, programs and teams in the areas of arts, culture and education. He has a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management and Policies from Itaú Cultural and the University of Girona and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Permanent Forum.
He is a lawyer and partner at Borges Sales & Alem Sociedade de Advogados, a law firm focused on the culture and entertainment sector. He holds a master's and doctorate in Economic Law from USP. He is the founder and president of the Institute of Law, Creative Economy and Arts – IDEA. He is a UNESCO consultant on cultural facilities. He is certified by Harvard's CopyrightX. He is a member of the IASP's Intellectual Property Commission.
She is a historian, specializing in Museology from USP, and has a master's degree in Social Museology from the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technology (Lisbon), having worked in the field for 23 years. A professor, researcher, cultural manager and curator, she was the director of the Museu do Café and the Museu da Imigração, and coordinated the Memorial da Resistência in São Paulo. She is currently the Technical Director of the Museu do Futebol and is a member of the Executive Board of the International Committee of Museums (ICOM).
She holds a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from Unicamp, a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management from CELACC-USP and CPF-SESC, and a postgraduate degree in Process Management from FIAP. She was an executive producer in the music sector and specialized in cultural projects and tax incentive laws. She worked as an executive producer at Visarte Produtora Jr., was a partner and executive producer at Quindim Produções Culturais, and was responsible for the cultural projects of the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo. She is currently a partner and project director at Tatu Cult, a consultancy and incubator for strengthening the sector through initiatives with sociocultural impact. In addition, she is a member of Kazunji, a collective that protects ancestral heritage through percussion. She has dedicated her professional and academic career to the sustainable and structured development of the cultural sector, and, since 2020, she has specialized in sustainability agendas – Agenda 2030 and ESG – as a means of mobilizing resources for culture.
She has a degree in Law from PUC-SP and is a postgraduate student in Cultural Project Management at USP. She participated in the 5th José de Oliveira Ascensão Competition, through the presentation of her undergraduate course completion work, which explored the defense of the integrity of the physical support of the work of visual arts as part of copyright protection, at the 121th Congress on Copyright and Public Interest. Founder and former coordinator of the Center for Studies on Intellectual Property and Digital Law (NEPIDD) at PUC-SP, through which she produced the booklet “Introduction to Intellectual Property”. She participated in extension groups focused on entertainment law, such as “Nelson 2023 – Law and Audiovisual” at FD-USP, and “Study Group on Entertainment, Media and Culture Law” at FGV-SP. Associate lawyer in the Arts team at Borges Sales e Alem Advogados. At BSA, she has been responsible for the Legal sector of MAM São Paulo since XNUMX. Before that, she worked in the areas of Intellectual Property and Digital Law.
