This course proposes a dialogue about the creation of works of art that have listening and/or sound as central elements and the challenges of their inclusion in visual arts exhibitions.
At a time when sound works are gaining prominence and listening is becoming fundamental in the interaction between artists and the public in museums, cultural centers and other exhibition spaces, the proposal is to observe how these works are installed and how the public relates to them.
Different sound works will be presented to discuss their creative contexts, production strategies, installation methods and how the public interacts with them. The course will also address the physical and symbolic conditions that influence the creative process of these works.
Each meeting will include a practical activity to explore ways to improve public interaction with the works and their access conditions.
The course will be online, in a study and work group format, aimed at anyone interested in the topic, especially those linked to arts, sound technologies, Libras translation, body practices and areas related to sound.
