With the proposal to bring the influences of waacking and voguing dances, two dances with great contribution to ballroom cultures, clubs and pop culture, Danna Lisboa will bring these two dance floor icons to make the body move with class, elegance, fluidity and a lot of energy.
Waacking emerged in underground clubs in 1971, in New York, but the dance culture was born in Los Angeles, and its movements are typical of Soul Train-style dance floors.
Voguing has as its principle the angular movements of the legs, torso and arms, and emerged in New York at parties called “ballroom” in Harlem. This entire culture is created by African-American trans people in the early 1960s, and both Waacking and voguing are inserted into current pop culture through music videos and even reality TV series and programs.
Danna Lisboa He began his dance studies in 2003 and, since then, he has participated in major dance festivals such as Meeting Hip Hop, joining groups such as Ritmos BASE, Identidade em Movimento, among other contributions. Danna also travels to various places in São Paulo with her workshops focused on dances with the essence of clubs and urban dances.
