The 10th Panorama concluded the third cycle of exhibitions dedicated to different artistic techniques, presenting 160 works by 58 artists, categorized as objects or sculptures. Amilcar de Castro was awarded again, this time in the sculpture category, in which artist Mario Cravo was also awarded. In the object category, Wilson Alves and Mary Vieira were awarded.
In the catalogue, critic Mário Schenberg comments that the participation of young artists in this Panorama would be reduced “mainly due to economic factors”. However, in addition to arguing for the role of the authorities in financially and structurally supporting the work of these artists, Schenberg highlights the political tone of the works of some of the youngest artists in the exhibition.
