After a period closed in 1982 for a major renovation designed by architect Lina Bo Bardi, MAM São Paulo was once again reopened with an edition of Panorama.
In 1983, the 14th Panorama of Current Brazilian Art was once again dedicated to painting, bringing together 72 artists and almost 300 works. The awards were expanded, including the artists Ivald Granato, Cleber Gouvêa, Luiz Paulo Baravelli and Maria Tomaselli Cirne Lima.
In the 14th Panorama catalogue, the president of MAM celebrates the renovation, emphasizing the museum's new exhibition space: the Paulo Figueiredo Room.
