Curated by Moacir dos Anjos, the 30th edition of Panorama was subtitled “Contraditório”. Without the intention of presenting a comprehensive mapping of the current national production, the curator pondered the very meaning of Panorama in contemporary times, assuming its speculative and reflective character regarding the singularities of Brazilian art.

Without the intention of presenting a comprehensive mapping of the current national production, the curator pondered the very meaning of Panorama in contemporary times, assuming its speculative and reflective character regarding the singularities of Brazilian art.
Through a diverse cast of 27 artists, of which the exhibition presented 37 works, the 30th Panorama sought to highlight the obstacles to defining “Brazilian art” in a context of accelerated blurring of the rigid boundaries that separate cultural forms from different locations.
On the occasion of the 30th Panorama, Telefônica sponsored the acquisition of some works from the exhibition, including works by artists João Modé, Laura Lima, Lucia Koch/Gabriel Acevedo Velarde and Marilá Dardot. This was the last edition of Panorama in which acquisitions were made with funding from the exhibition's sponsors.
