MAM's mission is to make Brazilian modern and contemporary art accessible to more and more people. To achieve this, MAM goes beyond the walls, beyond its headquarters, beyond the Park. Now the MAM goes to the world of games, being the first Brazilian museum in Minecraft: Education Edition!

The project #Amigo MAMNo.Minecraft offers unique experiences to players by combining art, education and games, with reproductions of the museum space and works from the collection, educational games, recreational activities and class proposals. Made in partnership with Microsoft and the agency Africa, the project, aimed at schools, students, artists and those interested in art and video games, presents an innovative form of dialogue with the public through reproductions of MAM's internal and external environments, including its headquarters and the Sculpture Garden, and works from the museum's collection.

In the educational game, in addition to visiting the museum, it is possible to build or rebuild works of art and learn about the history of Brazilian art through playful and virtual activities. At the Education Edition, educational version of Minecraft, teachers, or another adult responsible for running the game, have control of what players do and can include blocks to limit the area of ​​action on the map, not only demarcating the limits of the territory, but also indicating where the Players will be able to build or not. Another tool in the game is the blackboard, which will provide information and links to the MAM website about the works of art discussed in the class and guidelines for carrying out the activities.

O educational mam prepared lesson plans in which students will be invited to walk around Minecraft paying attention to their eyes and aesthetic sense of what they are seeing. At the end, they will make their own selection of works. Download the lesson plans using the buttons below.
