O MAM friend is designed for people looking to get closer to the museum and connect with an engaged community of people who share an interest in promoting art and culture.
We seek to strengthen and expand relationships between members and the institution, reinventing possibilities for social connection through art and rescuing its transformative role.
By becoming a member of the program, you gain access to a range of benefits at MAM and a network of partner cultural institutions, such as: monthly invitations to exclusive events; a monthly newsletter with different and curated content, including cultural tips; plus discounts at museums, theaters, publishers, and much more!
friends forever
At the beginning of the history of MAM São Paulo, there was a group called the Association of Friends of the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (AAMAM), which functioned as an active nucleus and engaged in supporting the museum's activities.
The group included the participation of figures such as the artists Tarsila do Amaral e Anita Malfati, the biologist Andrew Dreyfus, one of the founders of genetics in Brazil, and other personalities active in the cultural scene at the time. Historically, the group met at the famous “Bar do MAM”, located in the Diários Associados building, on Rua 7 de Setembro, and was led by Francisco Luís de Almeida Salles, a film critic and central figure in São Paulo's bohemian scene. Between the 1980s and 1990s, the group transformed into the Membership Program – and, since then, MAM has been investing in its relationship with the public through a benefits program that connects people of different ages and regions of Brazil to diverse exhibitions and cultural initiatives related to modern and contemporary art.
O MAM friend is a movement by the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art to look at the past and look to the future, maintaining an active community of people interested in art and being part of the institution's history.

core panorama
The Panorama of Brazilian Art is a biennial and fundamental project in the history of the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art, and also one of the most traditional periodic exhibitions in the country. The first edition took place in 1969, on the occasion of the reopening of MAM São Paulo in its new headquarters in Parque Ibirapuera.
The Panorama Center aims to revisit and value the history of this exhibition, its importance for MAM and for the production and research on Brazilian art. Supporters of this program play a vital role in fostering the exhibition's artistic production and acquiring works from Panorama for the museum's collection. It is a program aimed at individuals who are interested in encouraging art and culture through financial support to MAM.
